C.H. Mohammed Koya Chair for Studies on Developing Societies was constituted vide the order of the University of Calicut No.GAIV/BI/1530/2009 dated 14.09.2010. Its objective is to serve the educational, cultural and developmental interests of the society and to perpetuate the hallowed memory of the late C.H. Mohammed Koya(1927-1983) who was a great visionary, leader, writer, statesman and administrator. The Chair has been envisaged as a reach centre to conduct studies on relevant topics. These studies will provide inputs for policy formulations and social action. A full-fledged library and other facilities for research will be provided – Fellowships will be instituted. Eminent social scientists and academicians are associated with the Chair.
